Catherine Rose (Roberts) Grant

Schenectady, New York Mrs. Catherine Rose Grant, 79, passed away with family by her side, Friday Dec. 23, 2016 at Ellis Hospital. Catherine was born on December 12, 1937 in Plattsburgh New York and was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Collins) Roberts. Catherine enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, and spending quality time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by brothers, Howard Roberts, Louis Roberts and Gilbert (Butch) Roberts. Also predeceased by her sister Doris Shaw. She is survived by brothers; Roger, Joseph and Edmund Roberts and sisters; Marjorie Russell and Lillian Parson. Catherine is also survived by her husband Dewey Grant of 61 years; by her children; Christopher and Medina Grant, Cerese and Robert Rykowski, Todd and Karen Grant, Paul and Wendy Grant, Brian and Tina Grant, Lori and Edward Rose, Tina and Michael McLaine, Kevin Grant and the late Lynn Grant. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday December 29 at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service with Father Richard Carlino officiating. Interment will take place in Evergreen Memorial Park on Central Ave. in Colonie. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Catherine be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
