Catherine A "Kate" Dariano

Scotia- Catherine A."Kate" Dariano, 92, formerly of Schenectady, at rest Monday, September 15, 2014. Kate was born in Clifton Park, the daughter of the late William and Caroline (Murray) Groat. A homemaker, Kate was a loving wife and mother who doted over her husband and six children. Kate was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late John S. Dariano (1992); beloved mother of Leonard "Lenny" (Carolyn) Dariano of Lake George, Carmella (Ronald) Deppen of PA., John Dariano Jr. of Clifton Park, Robert (Kathy) Dariano of Glenville, Margaret "Peggy" Sartin of Las Vegas,NV, Gerald "Jerry" (Alyce) Dariano of Scotia;beloved sister of the late Florence Girvan, William Groat and Mabel Baker; beloved sister-in-law of Mary Taoramina of Santa Clara, CA., Lillian DiCarlo of N. Carolina, and Nellie Amorosa of Schenectady. Kate was the lovinggrandmother of 9 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 18 from 4 to 7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin9am Friday at the funeral home, followed at 10am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1260 Pleasant St. Schenectady. Burial will follow in St. Cyril Cemetery, Rotterdam. Kate's family wishes to thank the staff of the Baptist Health System for their awesome care of their mother.
