Carolyn M. Snyder

Altamont – Carol Snyder/Felgentreff formerly of Altamont passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on November 7th at the Glendale Nursing Home in Glenville. She Lived most of her life in Altamont and raised her children there. Carol was always a hard worker and always lending a helping hand when there was work to be done. She spent many years as a caregiver and was an accomplished knitter and made many items for people over the years including baby layettes for the Christ Child Society. Carol loved to bake and share her treats with friends and family. Carol will be remembered for her strong will and her fiercely independent attitude, even after suffering a stroke which left her disabled. She lived independently for 18 years. She was most proud of her titles of Grandma, Gram, Mima, Magra and GiGi.

Carol leaves behind her six children, Margie, Johnny, Susie, Danny and his wife Shauna, Dennis and his wife Cindy and Sandy and her husband Dave. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents Hazel and Earl St. John and a brother Alan.

Carol’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to the nursing and aide staff from the Pine Plains unit of the Glendale Home for their care and compassion during Carol’s last year.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
