Caroline "Ki" (Soltykowski) Hallenbeck

Rotterdam – Caroline “Ki” Theresa Hallenbeck, 91, at rest on Sunday July 24, 2016. Born in Schenectady on August 8, 1924, she was the daughter of Antoni & Pelagia Soltykowski. Ki attended Nott Terrace High School and went on to graduate from Mt. Pleasant High School. She worked at the General Electric Co. during World War II before staying home to raise her family and support her husband. She was a member of the Rotterdam senior center where she especially enjoyed the arts & crafts class. Ki was also a member and past president of the Rotterdam District #2 Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a communicant of the Church of St. Adalbert and the rosary society. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Robert N. Hallenbeck. Her son; Gary Hallenbeck Her sisters; Lottie Wysomski, Helen Stryker, Sarah Podbielski, Josephine Soltykowski, Philomena Soltykowski, Elsie Roth, Mary Coler & Frances Liska. Her brother; Joseph Soltykowski. Ki is survived by her son; Keene R. Hallenbeck. Her special friend; Dennis Cassidy of Lockport, NY She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews along with her cat, Dusty. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5-8 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 10:15 am Friday at the funeral home followed an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial at the church of St. Adalbert. Burial will follow at St. Adalbert’s cemetery.
