Niskayuna – Carole Jean Winders, 81, passed away on Monday, August 8th, 2022. Born in Schenectady to the late Arthur and Catherine (Baluch) Winders on January 1st, 1941, Carole and her twin sister, Kathleen were the first babies born in the city that year. She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and went on to receive education to become an LPN. Carole was a dedicated, caring and compassionate nurse at Ellis Hospital for 42 years. She enjoyed travelling the country and world with her twin sister, Kathleen, working on their family tree as they went. Carole also enjoyed visiting casinos where she was very ‘lucky’. Carole will be remembered as being the best sister and the most supportive and wonderful aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was kind and quick-witted and will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Suhocki (Robert) of Tucson, AZ and her twin, Kathleen Winders of Schenectady. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Amy Tsalikis, Beth Whitney, Victoria Normoyle, Darlene Buchanan, Jeffrey Winders and Scott Winders as well as her sister-in-law, Caralee Winders and many great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents, Carole was predeceased by one brother, Arthur Winders. A graveside service for Carole will be held on Friday, August 19th at 1pm at Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery in Rotterdam.
