Carol A Piccirillo

NISKAYUNA - Carol Anne Dillman Piccirillo joined her family and friends in heaven on Friday August 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 14, 1942 to the late Joseph and Ellen (Cunningham) Dillman in Schenectady NY. She was a lifelong resident of Schenectady. Carol graduated from St. Columba’s High School in 1960. She was married to her best friend, Angelo Piccirillo for 63 years. They began as high school sweethearts. She worked for NYS Education Department until her first child was born, devoting herself to raising her family before re-entering the workforce for the Niskayuna School District for 29 years, retiring in 2007.

She was involved in Girl Scouts, volunteered at her children’s and grandchildren’s schools and son’s baseball league. After her children were grown, she continued to volunteer at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Church as Giving Tree coordinator and various other ministries at the church. She adored her grandchildren and organized multiple family reunions. She loved to travel and was fortunate to visit Hawaii, Holland, France, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Brazil and Aruba. Her goal was to visit each state in the United States, and she made it to many of them. Carol liked to cross stitch, knit, read and do stamping. She wrote and published her own recipe book which sold very successfully.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Joseph “Skip” Dillman. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, and traditions that will continue to live on through her husband Angelo; her loving children, Angela (Scott) Kedik, Lisa Piccirillo and John Piccirillo; her grandchildren Dillon, Brandon and Justin Kedik, Samantha Piccirillo; her sister, Beatrice (Robert) Cline of Plymouth, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Carol will be remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering devotion to her family, and her ability to make every family gathering, holiday, and tradition feel special.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 19th from 4-6 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, August 20th at 9 am, at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 2216 Rosa Road Schenectady, followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 100 Kings Road, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Smile Train or any childhood charity of your choice, the Alzheimer’s Association, 405 Pine West Plaza, Albany or the Schenectady Food Bank at St. Luke’s Church in her memory.
