Carol Ann (Leonowicz) Didonna

Amsterdam, NY - Mrs. Carol Ann DiDonna, age 67, of State Highway 67, town of Amsterdam, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. She was born on August 1, 1947 in Schenectady, NY, to the late Walter and Katherine Leonowicz. She was a lifelong area resident and educated in Schenectady schools. She was united in marriage in 1965 with Joseph Angelo DiDonna in Schenectady where they lived and raised their family until retiring to the town of Amsterdam, 10 years ago.Carol loved going to the Saratoga Race Track, loved to gamble and play bingo with her family and friends.She enjoyed long rides with her husband in his classic cars while listening to music.She loved her animals and enjoyed sitting at the window in the kitchen with her husband to watch wildlife in the big fields surrounding her home. Carol Ann was predeceased by her brother Casimer Leonowicz and her daughter Jodi DiDonna.Survivors include her beloved husband Joe; loving daughters, Melissa K. DiDonna-Giesin of Schenectady, Bridget Congdon and her husband Ted of Niskayuna, her son, Joseph DiDonna and his life-partner Alan Paquin of Schenectady, sister-in-law Lois Leonowicz of Port Orange, Florida; cherished grandchildren, Ronnie Giesin, Keka Giesin, Steven Congdon and Sydney Congdon; great grandchildren, Brennan and Hailey Thomas.She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 5-7 p.m.Carol Ann's funeral will commence at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from the funeral home chapel with Father Richard Carlino, officiating.Procession will follow to Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany where she will be laid to rest.Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington's Disaese Society of America (hdsa.org).
