Carol Boyd, 81, a 44 year resident of Delanson, passed peacefully Tuesday November 14th at her daughters home in Guilderland, where she resided for the past 5 years. Born in Queens, Carol was the daughter of Edward and Adele (Maday) Borden. She grew up in Queens and graduated from All Saints School for Girls. After graduation, Carol went to work as a secretary for Pfizer. She met and married the love of her life, the late Robert J. Boyd Sr., on September 21, 1963. Carol loved being a devoted wife, mother and friend. They relocated their family to Delanson, in 1974 where Carol went to work for Duanesburg Central Schools in their payroll department. Carol was predeceased by her husband Robert on Oct 19, 1990 and remained devoted to him for the remainder of her life. She was a past member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and enjoyed reading, knitting, bowling, vacationing with her family in Cape Cod, and playing cards and board games for hours with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sister, Tina (Harold) York, of Florida. 3 children; Robert J. Boyd Jr (Brenda) of Quaker Street, Stephen E. Boyd (Joanne) of Delanson, and Susan Boyd Anthony, (Richard) of Guilderland. 7 grandchildren; Luke Anthony, Joel Anthony, Victoria Anthony, Kyle Boyd, Lauren Stairs, Karly Boyd, and Stephen Boyd.
The family would like to extend a loving thank you to St. Peter's Hospital and the Hospice Foundation of Upstate NY for their heartfelt care of Carol in her final days. They also thank DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home for their caring guidance through a difficult time.
