Carmen (Falvo) Tripoli, 85, of Rotterdam entered peacefully into the arms of our Lord on November 17, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Carmen was born in 1928 to Nicholas Falvo and Rose Bianco in Bronx, NY, and lived in the Schenectady area the majority of her life.She graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1947 and then graduated from Royal Beauty School.In the 1950'she worked at the General Electric Company and as a hair stylist at Jan's Beauty Salon in Scotia.After raising her family, Carmen worked for many years as a Remedial Reading teacher at Jefferson Elementary School in Rotterdam. Carmen married the love of her life, Nicholas A. Tripoli, on May 8, 1949.They had four children and lived in Lee, MA, Cincinnati, OH and Cherry Hill, NJ before moving back to the area in 1965. Carmen was an active communicant at Our Lady Queen of Peace church in Rotterdam. She is survived by her children Anthony (Claudia) Tripoli of Latham, Mark (Linda) Tripoli of Schenectady, Nicholas W. Tripoli of Schenectady, and her daughter Rosemary (Gary) Costanzo of Rotterdam; her siblings Stefanie Valentino of Rotterdam, Steve Falvo of Vestal, NY, Anthony Falvo of Schenectady and Frank Falvo of Schenectady; grandchildren Sarah (Judd) Gartenberg of Brooklyn, NY, Nicholas I. Tripoli of San Francisco, CA,Nicholas (Danielle) Mauro of Columbia, SC, Christina Tripoli of Niskayuna, Michael Tripoli of Troy,Nicholas G. Tripoli of Albany, Frank Costanzo of Syracuse, NY,andAnthony Costanzo of Rotterdam.Three great grandchildren Tristin Varraile; Aaron Mauro and Johnny Mauro all of Columbia, SC. She was predeceased by her husband, parents and siblings Jack Falvo and Judy McClosky. Calling hours will be at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave in Rotterdam on Wednesday evening from 5 - 8pm.Funeral services will begin on Thursday, 8:45 am from the funeral home, followed at 9:30 by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony's Church.Burial will follow the mass at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Glenville, NY.
