Schenectady-Carmen J. Agosta III, 67, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 17. Born in Amsterdam, NY he was the son of Lila Adamkowski Agosta and the late Carmen Agosta II. He was happily married to his loving wife Kimberly. They were together for 37 years. Carmen graduated from Amsterdam High School. He spent his career working as a trusted independent contractor, and proudly documented the homes he transformed during his remodels. In his spare time, he loved to garden flowers and vegetables, especially his spicy peppers, which he’d use to make his famous hot sauce. He spent time down at the sawmill cooking up warm meals for hundreds of people in need because helping others came naturally to him. He was a giving friend who would help anyone with anything they needed, no matter the time of day. Carmen was known for his dry sense of humor, but shared his huge heart and soft side with many of those around him, including his two favorite girls—his wife and his daughter. Carmen is survived by his wife Kimberly, his daughter Chloe Agosta (Dean Segatto), his mother Lila, his sisters, Anne Marie (Joe) Murdico, Liz Trazkos, and Gabe (Tony) Marrota, and his brother, Frank (Shirley) Agosta, his sisters-in-law, Lisa (Matthew) Haskin and Mary (Nicholas) Andreoli, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and close friends. He is predeceased by his father, Carmen Agosta II. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 22 from 10am-12pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Schenectady, NY 12306.
