Carmella Schwind

Schenectady- Carmella Radliff Schwind, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday October 5, 2020. Carmella was born on June 27, 1931, the sixth daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Viscusi) Giagiacumo. She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School, Schenectady County Community College and the College of St. Rose. She enjoyed playing cards, making puzzles, going to card parties and casinos. She also liked travelling and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and sisters. She will be remembered as a loving, caring and giving person. She retired as a Customer Service Specialist from GE after thirty years of service in 1992. She is survived by her husband James and her children Michele (Michael) Zotta, Craig (Elsa) Radliff and Penny Radliff. Her much adored grandchildren Michael Zotta Jr. (Angela), Nicholas Zotta, Gregory Zotta (Fiorella), Casey Gunning (Matt), Marina McCoy, James McCoy and Christopher Radliff. Her great-grandchildren Mikayla Lorraine Zotta, Giuliana Carmella Zotta, Michael Gaetano Zotta and Evie Lynn Gunning. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Brother in-laws Ira B. Harding, Brad Clay and brother in-law and sister in-law Joe (Kathy) Schwind. She was the last surviving Giagiacumo sister. She was predeceased by her sisters Yolanda Giagiacumo, Helen Parillo, Margaret Elacqua Pignatelli, Rose Harding, Patricia Clay and Eleanor Becker. Also her first husband, Martin Edward (Eddie) Radliff. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday October 9, 2020 from 9 am to 10:30 am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Schenectady, NY with a Christian Mass following at 11am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Rotterdam. Interment will follow at St. Cyril’s Cemetery, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Mohonasen Foundation for Excellence PO Box 4207 Schenectady, NY 12304.
