Carmella Heermance

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Carmella A. Heermance.Carmella passed peacefully on December 18, 2014, with her family by her side at the Capital Living Facility, where she resided for the past eight years.Her family is comforted knowing that she would be with the love of her life once again. Born on January 1, 1930, to Vivian Mastropietro and Anthony Veltri, Carmella was one of four girls:Teresa Krester, Jennie Baldwin, and Julia Couser. Carmella is predeceased by her love, Orazio John Zocco, and two sons:Michael Heermance and Harold Heermance. She is survived by her children:Edward Heermance, Jr., (Elaina) of Schenectady, Bernadette Paige (Tom) of Schenectady, John Heermance (Sherry) of Schenectady, Marshall Heermance of Schenectady, Ernest Heermance (Joseph) of Coral Springs, Florida, Leslie Jo Heermance (Thea) of Schenectady, Kimberly Clark (Andre) of Schenectady. She is survived by several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren who loved her tremendously. Carmella attended Mechanicville High School.She spent her life as a homemaker and she loved to cook, play cards, and go to Bingo.She had many friends and was always the life of the party.She spent many winters vacationing in Florida with her love, John. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carmella's life at Demarco-Stone funeral Home on Monday, December 22nd, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service immediately following from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 23rd, in Poughkeepsie, NY, at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Capital Living Recreation and Activities Department located at 526 Altamont Avenue, Schenectady, NY.
