Carmela (Sarra) Spina

Rotterdam- Carmela M. Sarra Spina, 83, passed away at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center on July 1, 2013. She was born in Amsterdam NYthe daughter of the late Dominick and Adeline VigliotteSarra. She was graduate of the Wilbur Lynch High School, class of 1947 and the Eastern School of Physicians Aid NY ,NY. Carmela was employed as a lab technician at the Wasserman Labs of Amsterdam City Hospital and Later at St. Clare's Hospital. She was later employed as a Para Professional for the Schenectady School District retiring in 1990. Carmela was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and the Sons of Italy. She is survivedher children Janet (Charles) Amoroso of Rotterdam, Frederick M. Spina of Woodbury Ct, Nancy L. Spinaof Loudonville and Michael (Wendy Hann Spina) of Rotterdam. Carmela also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Jennifer and Jaclyn Amoroso and Dominick and Rachele Spina and Michael Spina Jr .and many nieces and nephews and cousins .Carmela was predeceased by her beloved husband Sesto Spinaandone sister Filomena Marciniak of Amsterdam Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Heldrberg Ave on Friday July 5, 2013 from 6 pm to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am atOur Lady of Mount Carmel Churchon Saturday July 6 2013 . Interment will follow at St, Cyril Cemetery Duanesburg Road Rotterdam.
