Rotterdam – Carmela M. Sperduto, 91, passed away Thursday December 30, 2021 after a short illness. Born in Amsterdam she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Petrillo) Mastroianni. Carmela will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family along with her special fondness to her two youngest sisters, Josephine and Donna, who she treated and cared for as her children. Carmela and her husband Victor were inseparable and were found enjoying walks, going to different restaurants and taking short trips to see family and friends. Along with her parents and husband Victor (2007) Carmela was predeceased by her siblings Antoinette (the late Patsy) Caffarella, Louis (Sally) Mastroianni, Dolores (the late Ernest) Euler, Marlene Mauro and her brothers-in-law Joseph Esposito and James Essery. She is survived by her siblings Jeanette (James) Polito, Ann Esposito, Josephine Coppola, Donna Essery and her brother-in-law Louis Mauro. A calling hour from 10-11 am will be held Wednesday at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11 am. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made in Carmela’s memory to the charity of choice.
