Carmel Mina

Rotterdam - Carmel Mina, 103, died peacefully Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center, Schenectady. Born in Albany, March 5, 1919, the daughter of the late Angelo and Marianne (Memoli) Farinacci. She was secretary of the former Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Eucharistic minister, lector and past president and member of the Altar Rosary Society. Upon retirement she was a volunteer worker at the church. She was extremely devoted to her Catholic faith. One of her greatest joys was her trip to the Vatican, where she had an audience with Pope Paul VI. She is survived by her son Michael J. Mina (Patti Manuli) and her son Nicholas Manuli, her sister Francis Gladding and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Michael S. Mina January 1, 1998 and her brothers Ralph, George, Ernest and Gino Farinacci and her sisters Rose Cepollo, Luisa Riccardi and Marta Ruggieri. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning, 10 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Rd. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
