Rotterdam - Carl H. Mancini, 87, of Rotterdam passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on November 15, 2016 at Albany Medical Center. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Born in Ballston Lake, NY, Carl was the son of the late Antonio and Annunziata (Rea) Mancini. He and his wife Nancy (Giordano) Mancini recently celebrated 63 years of marriage. He is survived by two sons, James of Rotterdam andThomas of Niskayuna, and a daughter Joyce and son-in-law Floyd Wagner of Guilderland. He is also survived by his two loving grandchildren, Hannah Wagner of Cape Cod, MA and Giordan Wagner of Guilderland, as well asspecial cousin Venturina Pugliatti of Duanesburg. He was predeceased by his two brothers Loreto and Anthony Mancini. Carl graduated from Nott Terrace High School, Albany Business College, and the General Electric Manufacturing Management Program. Carl served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war conflict from 1951-1953. He was employed as an accountant in the Steam Turbine Department of General Electric 40 years and was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. Carl enjoyed gardening, spending time with friends and family at his summer home in Diamond Point, NY. He had a creative ability to fix and build anything and was always ready to help anyone. He especially loved being Poppy Carl to his treasured grandchildren who could never visit without being fed. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Saint Gabriel’s Church, 3040 Hamburg St., Schenectady, NY. 12303. Visitation for family and friendswill precede themass from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Pt. Dr., Tampa, FL., 33607, or Saint Gabriel’s Church at the address above.
