Schenectady- Camille "Carmen" Ciotoli, 89, at rest Friday, January 18, 2013, after a brief illness. Born in Bolivar, Pennsylvania, Carmen was the son of the late Nicola and Maria (Spinelli)Ciotoli. The recipient of nine battle stars, Carmen served meritoriously in the Navy during WWII and beyond. He served on various naval ships including the U.S.S Bunker Hill and the Midway; his ships were involved in many battles in the South Pacific. After the war he saw duty in Europe, Australia and the South Pole. Carmen lived most of his life in Schenectady. He was employed by General Electric for 40 years, retiring as a Machinist. He was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club. Carmen is predeceased by his former wife, Raffaela Ciotoli. He was the beloved life partner of forty years to Carmela Greppo; beloved father of Nicholas (Maureen) Ciotoli of Scotia; loving grandfather of Rachel, Sarah and Laura; beloved brother of Elia "Leo" Ciotoli of Schenectady and the late Augustine "Augie" Ciotoli; loving "papa" to Kelly, Eric, Erica, Brian, Jordan, Matthew, Michaela, Maxwell, Carmella, Lucas, and James. Carmen is also survived by his extended loving family, Frank (Denise) Greppo of Glenville, Louis (Linda) Greppo of Albany, Michael (Dorothy) Greppo of Princetown, Mary (Michael) Gabriele of Rotterdamand numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Private burial will take place in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
