Brian P Hartson

Guilderland – Brian P. Hartson, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 17, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born in Washington, D.C. on February 6, 1942 he was the son of Robert and Alice (Powers) Hartson. From 1964-1966 Brian served our country in the United States Air Force. He retired from the State of New York in Albany after working many years for the Department of Labor. A communicant of St. Madeleine Sophie Church Brian served in many capacities which included the parish council, building committee, eucharistic minister, lector, visitation minister, St. Vincent DePaul food pantry and the confirmation retreat team. He was also appointed to the Bishops commission on peace and justice. Brian was also a trustee of the Guilderland Public Library and the Upper Hudson Library. He was a member of the Guilderland Elks #2480 and the Latham Kiwanis Club where he was a distinguished Past President. Brian was also an inspector for the Albany County board of elections. He is survived by his wife, Alice. His son Mark S. Hartson. Four siblings, Roberta M. MacAneney, Robert (Lyn) Hartson, Merrill (Terry) Hartson and Mitchell (Billie Kay) Hartson. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Brian’s memory to the St. Madeleine Sophie Food Pantry or Community Hospice.
