ROTTERDAM - Brian F. Flouton, 79, passed away suddenly on Wednesday May 22, 2024. He was born in Niskayuna on November 7, 1944 to the late Edward and Nancy Sherwin Flouton. After he graduated from Mont Pleasant high school, he went to work in the grocery business, and then became the owner and operator of Flouton’s Food Mart. His family was his pride and joy and his greatest role in life was being a husband. He would say how proud and happy he was to have the strongest and bravest bride. He was thankful everyday for the family she created with him. He had a special bond with each of his grandkids and great grandkids. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by Virginia & Ernie Taft, Sandy Delollo.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife, MaryAnn Flouton; his children, Nancy & Edward Johnson, Brian & Nicole Flouton, Michael & Kathy Flouton, Valerie & Eric Belden; his grandchildren, Bre-Ann & Connor, Patrick & Ally, Andrew, Brent Daniel, Tyler, Gabriella, Lily, Ariannah, Beau, Levi; his great-grandchildren, Willow, Oliver, Ellie; and his great-grandson, the late Cameron, who was waiting in Heaven for his great-grandpa; his brother, Edward; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday May 28th from 9am to 11am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Rd, Rotterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. He will then be interred in Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either St Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, Spina Bifida Association of NY State, or Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center.
