Beverly J Paul (Lambert)
Beverly June Paul (Lambert), 84 of Rotterdam NY passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.
Born to William H and Sophie M (Greens) Lambert on May 1,1941 in Rotterdam (Schenectady) NY. Bev lived in Rotterdam all her life.
She graduated from Draper High School in 1959 and always had a strong love for music. In High School she played clarinet in Draper’s concert and marching band. She was also an excellent pianist and accompanied robed choir and Melody Makers as a student.
In 1954 while on Draper Marching Band’s participation in Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade she met Richard (Dick) Paul. This led to a wonderful marriage on November 28, 1959 that lasted over sixty-six years and included 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
As a devoted Mom, while raising her four children, she was a Den Mother in Cub Scouts, homeroom mother, trip chaperone, field trip driver, and assisted with most of the great musicals that Draper put on in the mid-70’s and 80’s. Her devotion to family continued through her grandchildren’s activities as well.
Music was a huge part of Bev and Dick’s life. In addition to her mothering tasks, she also taught piano lessons and accompanied several choirs and NYSSMA soloists over the years.
Bev and the family were members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for the first part of their marriage and St Madeleine Sophie Church for the last 35+ years. She was a member of the Joyful Heart choir at St. Madeleine’s for many years as well. In addition she was a past member of Rotterdam Fire District 2 Ladies Auxiliary.
Over the years nothing made her happier than working with the kids at Merritt Dance Center. She watched her daughter and grandchildren all participate in the love of dance. Her last lucid moments were spent discussing dance and the people she met through dance along the way.
Bev and Dick enjoyed going to Haines City Fl for a couple of months in winter, with a stop to visit Kathy’s family in Salisbury NC on the way down and back. Summer months were spent at their trailer at Great Sacandaga Lake.
Beverly was predeceased by her parents William and Sophie Lambert and her in-laws Henry and Grace Paul.
Beverly is survived by her husband Richard H. Paul, and four children: Sons Richard Paul, Ronald Paul, and Robert Paul (Kathleen), and daughter Kathleen Rowlands (Michael). Grandchildren: Michael (Scarlett) Davis, Sean (Edna) Paul, Nicole Paul, Kristin (Conor) Daley, Cierra (James) Troutman, Bryan Paul, Kayla Tomasek, Shane Tomasek, Amber Rowlands, Noah Paul, and Sophia Paul.
