Bernhard F Knaup

Schenectady, New York Bernhard F.Knaup, 86 years old, of Rotterdam entered eternal rest on Monday, September 7 after a long illness.He spent the final days of his life at his home in the company of his loving family.He is predeceased by his wife of 59 years Elfriede (Kugel) Knaup and is survived by his son Peter E. Knaup of Atlanta, GA; a brother Ferdinand Knaup; a sister in law Hilde Knaup; several nieces, nephews and cousins in the United States and Germany; and a long term care giver Lillian.Bernhard was born on September 11, 1928 in Bad Lippspringe in Germany to the late Ferdinand and Christine (Ratajczak) Knaup.He emigrated to the Schenectady area with his wife in March 1954.Bernhard worked as a stone mason and entered retirement after many years working for the Wade Lupe Construction Company.He enjoyed outdoor activities such as gardening, camping, fishing and hunting, and in retirement was an avid traveler.He was deeply committed to his family and friends.
