Rotterdam - Becky Bowles Cornick, 57, passed away on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at home with her husband and children at her side. Born on November 27, 1957 in Schenectady, NY, Becky was the daughter of the late Elbridge and Olive Johnston Bowles. She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1975. Becky worked for 29 years as a special education paraprofessional and a computer tech paraprofessional for the Schenectady City School District. She also worked at New Life Nursery. Becky also was the owner of Soccer City in Schenectady and BC's Emporium.She cherished her faith in God and was a member of Abounding Grace Christian Church. Becky loved being with friends and family, vacationing at Hampton Beach, NH and enjoyed flea markets, collectibles and gardening. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Steven Cornick, whom she married on November 12, 1977. Her son, Steven Cornick Jr., of Schenectady and her daughter, Chrystal Stone (Vinnie) of Rotterdam. Her sisters, Faye Zielinski (William) of Guilderland and Deborah Coyle (Chris) of Schoharie. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to St. Peter's Oncology, St. Peter's interventional radiology department and the staff at 3&5 McCauley. Also to all of our family and friends that have shown us so much love and support during this difficult time. A memorial celebration of life will be held 6:30 p.m. on Friday May 8 at Abounding Grace Christian Church 3060 Hamburg St., Schenectady, NY 12303.
