Barbara Carolyn Noble, 88, of Schenectady peacefully went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 9, 2018. Barbara was born March 5, 1929 in Syracuse, New York to William B. George, Sr. and Gladys (Jones) George. She had an older brother, Rev. Dr. William B. George, Jr. She graduated from Syracuse’s Central High School and then attended Houghton College. In 1948, she married Robert T. Noble, Jr. a fellow music student. They were married nearly 67 years. She was predeceased by these loved ones. After raising her children, Barbara was employed by Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District as a library aide. She was talented at sewing, knitting, quilting and piano playing. She loved to read and travel. Barbara was proud of her Welsh heritage. Barbara is survived by her five children: Cynthia (Larry) Sayler of Greenville, Illinois, Katherine E. Noble of Scotia, New York, Robert T. (Holly) Noble III of Ballston Spa, New York, Nancy (Daniel) Olson of Bend, Oregon and Susan (Martin) Benoit of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Barbara had eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She also leaves a cousin plus several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Schenectady. A memorial service will be held later. Interment will be at the Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
