Barbara "Barb" Mcnierney

Rotterdam- Barbara "Barb" McNierney, 57, at rest suddenly, on Tuesday November 26, 2013. Barb was born in Detroit, Michigan. She was a graduate of Wayne University with an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy. For ten years Barb used her loving skills as the foster Mom of physically and developmentally disabled children. She was a member of VFW Post 4422 in Michigan. Barb was the beloved wife of James H. McNierney; beloved sister of William(Gwen) Kosnow Jr. of Tampa, FL, PamelaKosnow, Patricia (Daniel) Cowell and Elaine Kless; all of Taylor, Michigan; beloved step mom of James Kenneth (Arwen)McNierney of Carbondale, Illinois; beloved sister-in-law of Kathy (William) (McNierney) Monroe. Barb is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, William Kosnow and Jacquelyn (Turney) Conroy. Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 1, from 4 pm to 6:30pmat the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
