Princetown – Austin Montgomery Hobbie, 18, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 22, 2020. He was a student at Schalmont High School and Albany VOTEC. His passion was working on cars and he was amazing at it. He also enjoyed riding his snow mobile and dirt bike. He was an avid hunter and fisherman but he had a love towards animals and nature. He was a very caring, fun, passionate and smart person. He would do anything for his family and friends and had a love for music especially country. Austin will be greatly missed by so many people and he was very loved. He is survived by his mother Amber Hobbie, his sister Grace Hobbie, and his brother Owen Hobbie, his grandparents Michael and Laurie Russell, his great grandmother Sophie Faboskay, his aunts Kelsey Russell, Brittany Hastings and her husband Todd Hastings, Dawn Manville and her husband Dan Manville, his uncles Michael Russell Jr. and his wife Kaileen and Jack Hobbie as well as his great aunts Denise Satterlee and Donna Faboskay and many cousins. He is predeceased by his father Montie Hobbie, his grandfather James Faboskay, and his uncle Glen Hobbie. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 9am-12pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam with a funeral service to follow at 12pm. Austin will be laid to rest at St. Cyril and Method Cemetery on Duanesburg Road.
