Antoinette Miceli Volpicelli, 73, of Schenectady passed away at home on December 6, 2017. Born in Schenectady she was the third daughter to Sinibaldo Miceli and Assunta Pugliese who emigrated from Pianopoli Italy in 1929. She was born and raised in Schenectady and graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1961. A life-long parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish she was graced with a strong faith and love of her Lord. She was the daughter of a butcher and used to quip that she was his only son…working in the store stocking shelves and lifting heavy boxes. Much more of that ensued in the following years running her own successful business with her partner and loving husband Ralph, together they ran Volpicelli’s Pizza Co. for 20+ years. She concluded her career working for Capital Region BOCES where she retired from the Business Office after 18 years. Ever the entertainer, she enjoy hosting parties and loved to cook and bake! You could not walk into the house without being offered a plentiful array of goodies! She was predeceased by her parents Sinibaldo & Assunta Miceli, her husband of 43 years, Ralph Volpicelli, Sr., her son Ralph Volpicelli, Jr., her eldest sister and brother-in-law Isabella and Michael Della Villa, her brother-in-law Joseph Pugliano and nephew Joseph Pugliano. She is survived by her children Patrick (Diana) Volpicelli and Nancy Volpicelli, her sister Celeste Pugliano, step grand daughter Rachael Marie Tranter, nephew Michael Pugliano, niece Susan Baker, great nieces Serena Roginsky and Christina Baker and many loving cousins and godchildren. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Monday, 8:15 from the funeral home followed at 9 a by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt.
