Schenectady - Antoinette Buzzo passed away, surrounded by her loving family on February 9, 2018. She was 86 years old. Antoinette was born on July 7, 1931 in Fontechiari, Italy. She was the daughter of Michael and Concetta Pallante who predeceased her. On February 4, 1951 she married her beloved husband, Albert Buzzo who predeceased her in 2004. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage in Schenectady, NY. Antoinette was also predeceased by her step sister, Alice Pallante. Antoinette worked at General Electric before she retired in 1980. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her passion. She enjoyed watching the New York Yankees play baseball and the winter figure skaters on television. She had a love for her flowers and her garden in the summertime. In the cooler months you would always find her in the kitchen cooking and baking Italian cookies for her family and friends. Antoinette is survived by her children, Patricia McGinnis (John) of Duanesburg, Nicolas Buzzo of Rotterdam; her six grandchildren Colleen McGinnis, John McGinnis, Ryan Buzzo, Nicolas Buzzo (Tiffany), Michael Buzzo (Erica), Caelan Buzzo and her three great-grandchildren, Ashlee McGinnis, Ella Buzzo, and Liam Buzzo. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Ermandina DiCocco of Schenectady and Domenica Cannice Provenza of Long Beach, CA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her surviving family will remember her as a driven, brilliant woman and a patient mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She was a hard-working individual and a member of Our lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Calling hours will be held from 5-7 on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. A funeral service will be Thursday morning at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Cyril and Method Cemetery in Rotterdam.
