Antimo Possumato

Rotterdam - Antimo Possumato, 75, of Draper Ave., passed away Thursday October 3, 2013 at Ellis Hospital with his loving family at his side. Born in Benevento, Italy, he was the son of Giovanni and Giovannina Melillo Possumato. Antimo was a loving and devoted husband and father whose hard work and sacrifices paved the way for his family to succeed. His unconditional love was demonstrated by his unwavering support and willingness to always offer help in any circumstance. He was gracious and welcoming with his gentle smile and always happy to see family and friends with the thought of offering up tables full of food just for the joy of breaking bread. He will always be remembered for his love of family and friends, hard work, travelling to his homes in Florida and Italy and his passion for Italian soccer. Our loss is heaven's gain. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Consiglia Mezza Possumato. Two children; Giovanni (Anna) Possumato of Slingerlands and Antonella (Duane) Pechtel of Delanson. Four grandchildren; Christopher Ebert, Alaina Possumato, Carina Possumato and Desiree Pechtel. His great granddaughter, Karmynn Ebert. Antimo is also survived by his sister, Domenica Cappadona of Italy. Along with his parents Antimo was predeceased by his grandson, Anthony Michael Ebert. Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Monday from 5-8 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 210 Princetown Rd., Rotterdam.
