Johnstown – Anthony “Tony” N. Pasquariella, 86, passed away on Saturday, August 26th, 2017 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Rotterdam Junction, Tony was the son of the late Nicholas and Molly (Fasula) Pasquariello. Tony graduated from Draper High School in 1951 and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Rotterdam Elks and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Johnstown. Tony and his wife Joan spent most of their years in Rotterdam raising their daughters, Sandy and Janet and later helping raise their granddaughter, Erika. Tony enjoyed vacationing out West and going to Hampton Beach, NH, every year. Spending time with his family and friends was what he loved most. He was incredibly proud of his great grandchildren and loved their visits home to New York from Texas during the summers. Tony leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 66 years, Joan (Cavanaugh) Pasquariella, his daughters, Sandra Craig of Mansfield, TX and Janet Brown (Skip) of Johnstown, his granddaughter, Erika Caez (Armando) of Arlington, TX and his great grandchildren, Emma, Alexander, Madison and Isabella Caez. He also leaves behind one brother, Bernard Pasquariella (Susan) of New York City. A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 30th from 4:30-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. in Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin on Thursday morning at 9:45am at the funeral home and will be followed by a Mass of Christian burial that will be celebrated at 10:30am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Rd., Rotterdam. Interment with full military honors will be Friday at 11am at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, a procession from the funeral home will depart promptly at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tony’s name can be made to the Montgomery County SPCA, 1007 NY-5S, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
