Rotterdam - Anthony G. Gagliardi, 82, of Rotterdam, died peacefully on Thursday July 10, 2014. Born in Schenectady, Anthony was the son of the late Leontino and Virginia DeMarco Gagliardi. From 1952-54 He served our country in the United States Army being stationed in Alaska. Following his military service Anthony was a milkman for many years for the Pine Grove dairy in Schenectady and most recently retired from Bellevue Builders Supply. Anthony was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and will be remembered for his love of family. His wife, Doris K. Gagliardi, whom he married on July 16, 1955, passed away on December 26, 2013. He is survived by his five children, Anthony (Karen) Gagliardi of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Joseph (Cheri) Gagliardi of Schenectady, Barbara Gagliardi of Vermont, Mary Gagliardi of Schenectady and Edward Gagliardi of Glens Falls, 13 grandchildren; Christina, Jennifer, Toni Marie, Tiffany, Mandy, Shannon, Joseph, Anthony, Carrie, Sarah, Becca, Marisa and Robert, who was like a son to him, 10 great grandchildren, devoted family friend Deb Benn as well as nieces and nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his brother, Tommy (Dorothea) Gagliardi of Schenectady. His two sisters; Carmella Ciaschetti and Dorothy Mauro both of Schenectady. Along with his parents He was also predeceased by his great grandson, Leontonio . Calling hours will be held on Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, 8:15 am from the funeral home, followed at 9 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Schenectady Memorial Park Cemetery.
