ROTTERDAM - Anthony (Tony) Anapolis, Jr., 92, passed away on Friday September 6, 2024. He was born in Amsterdam on August 8, 1932 to the late Anthony F. and Olimpia DiCaprio Anapolis. He served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954. Tony was a store manager for Grand Union for most of his career. After retiring, he worked for Hartz Cleaners and for Cumberland Farms. Tony was a passionate sports fan and also cherished his time at Saratoga Race Course. Tony enjoyed following high school sports and served as a scorekeeper for the Schenectady High School boys basketball team for 15 years.
Tony is survived by his partner of 22 years, Marie D’Errico; his son, Thomas (Darlene) Anapolis; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Luke, and Natalia Anapolis; and his ex-wife, Sylvia Anapolis. Another special person in Tony's life was Marie's nephew Nicholas who called every day to say hi to him.
Per his request, Tony has been privately cremated and there will be no visitation. He will be interred with military honors at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Monday September 16th at 10:30am. Those wishing to attend, please arrive at the cemetery at 10:15am. Arrangements by DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, Rotterdam.
