Schenectady- AnnaMaria Miranda Abrams, of Cumberland Rhode Island, passed away surrounded by family love on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Born July 5, 1968, AnnaMariais the daughter to Pasquale and Patricia Miranda of Schenectady, NY.She is the birth daughter of Donna Miranda of Clifton Park, NY. Born in Schenectady, New York, AnnaMaria graduated from Mont Pleasant High School. She then sought higher education and graduated from Schenectady County Community College, there after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Education from Rhode Island College. AnnaMaria then went on to receive her Master’s degree from Brown University in ESL Studies. For the past 13 years, AnnaMaria was employed by the Woonsocket School District as a teacher at Hamlet Middle School. She truly loved her profession as well as the faculty and students she taught. AnnaMaria was a member of the American Federation of Teachers and Woonsocket Teachers Guild. She was an active member of the Arnold Mills Methodist Church in Cumberland, Rhode Island. She loved to garden as a way to carry on her grandmother’s legacy and especially enjoyed spending time outside in her yard. AnnaMaria is survived by her children Allison Abrams, 22, and Ian Abrams, 17. She leaves behind her loving companion Bruce Berman, as well as her 2 brothers and their wives: Pasquale Miranda (Angela) of Virginia Beach, VA and Michael Miranda (Colleen) of Cummings, GA. Her Nieces and Nephews are Alayana, AnnaMaria, Adalynne, Clementine, and Cesare Miranda. AnnaMaria comes from a large loving family of many aunts, cousins and dear friends. Calling hours will be held this Friday, March 18, 2022 from 8:45am to 10:45am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Schenectady, NY 12306. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30am at St. Anthony’s Church in Schenectady. Entombment will take place at St Cyril’s Cemetery, Duanesburg Road, Schenectady, New York. At AnnaMaria’s request please do not send flowers, and instead be so kind to donate to the St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
