Schenectady- Anna Riganti Marzella, 79, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Anna was born and educated in Giovinazzo, Province of Bari, Italy. She moved to Schenectady with her husband in 1958. She was employed as a cook with the Silver Haven Nursing Home for over 20 years. Anna was a long time communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Anna's greatest joy was doting over her grandchildren, attending their various school events and enjoying their accomplishments. She also enjoyed her home, garden and cooking for family and friends. Anna was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Paolo "Paul" Marzella (2004); beloved mother of Ruggiero "Roger" Marzella and his wife, Ella of Rotterdam and Raffaella Trichilo and her husband, Angelo of Albany; loving grandmother of 5 grandchildren; Alyssa and Laura Marzella, both of Rotterdam and Michael, Paul and Christina Trichilo; all of Albany; beloved sister of Lina Spadavecchia of New Jersey and Nicolette Riganti of Milan, Italy. Anna is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held Friday, February 27, from 6 to 8pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Friends are also invited to a Saturday 10amMass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1260 Pleasant St. Schenectady. Entombment will follow in Sts. Cyril /Method Cemetery, Rotterdam.
