Anna (Podoba) Binkley

December 31, 1934 — August 25, 2022

Rotterdam - Anna Binkley, 87, of Rotterdam, NY entered heaven and touched the face of God on Thursday, August 25, 2022. She is now in the arms of her late, dear parents, Mary and Anton Podoba. She is survived by her devoted and beloved husband, Bruce Binkley of 48 years. Together they raised six loving children, Michele Reagan (Patrick), Kathy Atwell (Steve), Sharon Pietrzak (Frank), Barbara Excell (Bill), Bob Binkley (Jody) and Bill Binkley (Karen). She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jane Podoba, her brother-in-law Freeman (Red) Gilbert, her cousin Junie and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by several beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with her faithful dog Rebel who never left her side. She is predeceased by her adoring mother and father-in-law Evelyn and Freeman Gilbert, sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Jerry Gilman, grandson, Patrick Reagan, and her best friend Melanie DeMeo. Anna was a 1954 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. She was a soda-jerk at a drug store located on Union Street in Schenectady. She then began her career after high school at the Telephone Company for 38 years. She always had the gift of gab. Anna was a two-time breast cancer survivor for the past 26 years, which leaves much to be admired and gives hope to others. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, reading, shopping, and watching Hallmark, Lifetime, and scary movies. She enjoyed her memories of camp with her kiddos, going cross country and cruises with her husband. She loved going to the Bellevue Café and made true friends whom she grew to love. She especially loved going to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events. When it came to her children and grandchildren, she was always there; she never missed a thing. Her greatest love, legacy and passion was her family. She loved having the titles of mom, grandma, grammy, aunt, cousin, and friend. Remembering her is remembering her beauty inside and out, her smile, her wit, her strength, her protection, her kindness, her faith, her laughter, her hugs, and her love. Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held, Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam.
