Angelo Coppola, 86, of Schenectady, NY died at home after a brief illness on December 28th, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.Angelo was born in Ruviano, Caserta, Italy on October 29th, 1928.He was the son of the late Antonio and Maria Carmina Coppola. Angelo was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Angelo immigrated to the United States in April of 1962, and settled in Schenectady to raise his family.He was employed by the General Electric Company and retired in 1992 after 30 years of dedicated service.Angelo loved spending time with family and friends, and spending endless hours working in his garden. Angelo was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife of 37 years Elisa (Piccirillo) Coppola, his brother Vincenzo Coppola (of Caserta), his sister Cicila and brother-in-law Umberto DeMeo (of Ruviano), and his nephew Antonello Coppola (of Caserta).He is survived by his son Antonio (Jill) Coppola (Malta, NY), daughter Carmelina (Michael) Dagostino (Scotia, NY), grandsons Anthony Coppola Jr., Nicholas Coppola, Michael Dagostino Jr., Matthew Dagostino, and his granddaughter Elisa Dagostino.He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday January 2nd from 5PM to 7 PM at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave.Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 8 AM Saturday morning, followed at 9 AM by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant Street.Burial will follow the service at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. Angelo's family would like to thank Hospice of Schenectady for their support and professionalism throughout his illness.
