Starting out in Queens, Angie’s family moved to Guilderland, NY when she was a young girl and helped on the family vegetable farm throughout her childhood, with several extended family members living on the same farm there were always family gatherings and afternoon ice tea chats under the trees in the yard. It was a tradition to have weekend dinner at Angie’s with homemade sauce and pasta, braciole and fresh dandelion greens. Holidays were always filled with wonderful food and family at Tony and Angie’s, usually ending the day sipping on Tony’s homemade wine.
To her grandchildren and great grandchildren Angie was the quintessential Italian grandmother making homemade soup when you were sick, your favorite meal when it was a birthday and having her door always open to run in and get homemade cookies. Going to Grams was always a treat and her talks were equally as special.
Angie had such an impact on so many generations throughout her family. Handing down cherished recipes, special traditions and old world wisdom that are all priceless and will continue on in her honor.
Family and friends are invited to a small service at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery Thursday, February 8th at 11am where we will lay Angie to rest and be joyfully reunited with her husband Tony.
