Angela L (Demarco) Deangelo

Guilderland – Angela Lorraine (DeMarco) DeAngelo, 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Monday, December 17th, 2018. Angela was born in Schenectady, to her parents, the late John J. DeMarco and Adelina (Masseli) DeMarco. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School where she was Vice President of her senior class, a varsity majorette, member of the Future Teacher’s of America, Girl’s Athletic Club and a cadet teacher. Angela was remembered by classmates for her kindness, smile and was voted most popular. She worked at the family business “Johnny DeMarco’s Original Pizzeria” greeting customers with her friendly smile and outgoing manner. Angela later worked as a telephone operator. She was a loving wife and mom and selfless caregiver. Nothing made her smile more than family, roses and a good bowl of ice cream. In Angela’s spare time she volunteered at Sunnyview Hospital, local elementary schools and libraries and acted as parent advocate for Schalmont’s Committee on Special Education. She generously supported various organizations and individuals in need of care or comfort all of her life. Angela is remembered with love and respect by her survivors: her husband, Ralph whom she married on August 19th, 1956, son Anthony and his wife Karen, son Joseph and his wife Denise, daughter Maria and her husband Matthew and her daughter Gail, grandchildren, Nick, Elizabeth, Rachel, Jessica, Mackenzie and Morgan and her great granddaughter, Lucy. She is also survived by her sisters, MaryAnn Gelso and Barbara Pully (Jordan), sister-in-law Sarah DeMarco and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, John DeMarco Jr. A calling hour will be held on Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. A funeral mass will follow at 10am at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 210 Princetown Road. Interment will be at St. Cyril and Method Cemetery. Contributions in Angela’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or to the City Mission of Schenectady. Arrangements are by R.J. DeLuccia Funeral Service.
