(MALATINO) AMICO > September 09 1919-January 28, 2014 > Angelina Minnie (Malatino) Amico, Formerly of Rotterdam N.Y.Found peace and rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ yesterday... she was 94. > For over forty years she was a resident of Lorraine Avenue in Rotterdam N.Y. She was preceded in death by her one and only true love, Rosario J. Amico they were married on August 18, 1942 and enjoyed 58 wonderful years together until his passing in Feb. 1997. > Together they had four Children: > Three girls, Annette Marie Ciabotti -Torelli (Louis D.-deceased) (Joseph P.) and (Noreen Francis-deceased), Angela Noreen Bovino (Anthony R.) > One son, Ross Anthony Amico (Karen S.) > Five Grandchildren: > Marisa Joy Caprara (Robert), Seth Matthew Ciabotti (Michelle), Anthony Joseph Amico, Bethany Noreen Foster (Jared), Julianna Angelina Bovino > Six Great Grandchildren: > Juliano L. Caprara, Mia F. Caprara, Nico R. Caprara, Sophia R. Caprara and Luca L. Ciabotti, and (another on the way) > Angelina was born on September 09, 1919 in Johnstown N.Y.to the late Anthony Malatino and Lucia (Patane) Malatino, She had six siblings four brothers and three sisters. > Joseph (Pepe) Malatino, Orlando (Kate) Malatino, James Malatino, Rose (Joseph) Renado, Josephine (Charles) Ranado, her youngest brother Dominick Malatino still lives locally. > In her younger years growing up in Johnstown N.Y., Angelina worked for the Johnstown Knitting Mill, On weekends she could be found tearing up the dance floor with her siblings in Caroga Lake. After meeting her husband and moving to Rotterdam Angelina or (Angie) as she was called by her closest friends and family, gave up her job at the knitting mill, to fulfill her hearts desire, to be a homemaker, wife, and mother. > In her 94years of life Angie encountered many serious trials in which she overcame with great courage, her strong FAITH in Jesus always brought her through. She shared it and encouraged many over her lifetime. With her "opera- like" voice you could always hear her singing her songs of faith. > She was always willing to help her friends and neighbors out if they needed anything, she would go door to door to take up a collection for a family in need or bring food or money if there was a death, she would share flowers and vegetables from her garden with all whom she knew. She served her Lord, her husband, her family, and her friends, with Love, Joy and a Willing Heart! > > > The loss of her precious daughter Noreen at twelve and a half years of age was a devastating blow. She and Ross would forever be changed. Life was difficult after that, but together with the help of the Lord they overcame the darkest days of there lives! > "Angie" was a loving, kind, caring, wife, mother, grand mother, aunt, neighbor, and trusted friend. > A true servant and blessing to all who knew her. Angie loved life, and though she saw many troubling times, a husband in two wars (WW11, and The Korean Conflict), the loss of a daughter, many family tragedies, she always remained steadfast, loving, and kind, and true servant to all who needed her , her door was always open and so was her heart. > Her immigrant cooking was the best around.She always had "a little something" for you to take home, along with a small gift in her one of many dresser drawers filled with all kinds of surprises! You never went home empty handed, or hungry! > Angie was always full of heartfelt love, and contagious laughter. (Her unique laugh won't soon be forgotten). Reunited again after many years of separation, she is laughing now with her beautiful daughter Noreen, and loving husband Ross, and those who have gone on ahead of her. > She has most recently resided at The Baptist Retirement and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia for the passed 3 years. > Our family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to all the staff on S-3, along with Dr.Ringler, Kathy, Ronnie, Ruth, 99(Denise), Yarz and all the rest (you know who you are) for taking such beautiful care of our loving mother we will forever be grateful...God Bless you all. >The Family of Angelina M.
