Schenectady - Amelia Rose (“Milly”) Chylinski, 100 years old, passed away on January 16, 2021. She was born in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of two wonderful parents, the late Vito and Maria DiDomenico Fiore. She attended Mt. Pleasant High School and was a member of the school choir. In 1938, Milly was chosen for a part in a review at Proctor’s Theater celebrating the 150 years since the adoption of the US Constitution by New York State. In the production orchestrated by her high school musical director, Mr. Jay Lansing, she performed in a dance of robots reflecting the monotony of mechanical developments at that time. Following graduation from Mildred Elley Business School, Milly worked as a secretary at the Schenectady General Electric Company from 1939 to 1955. She met her husband Robert at the Schenectady Municipal Golf Course in 1948. They married on September 13, 1952 and together they golfed and participated in many hobbies and contests. In 1962 they won $1,000 in a third place finish in a national word puzzle contest. Milly pursued numerous activities throughout her life. She excelled at gardening, sewing and solving word and crossword puzzles. She was also an avid duplicate bridge player like her brother John and she participated for a number of years in the Schenectady Women’s Bowling League. Milly was an enthusiastic golfer who won the Pinehaven Country Club women’s championship eleven times and the Northeast Women’s Golf Association Senior Championship in 1983 at Wiltwick Country Club in Kingston, NY. Milly was devoted to her family her whole life and together they celebrated many wonderful holiday gatherings. In addition to her parents, Milly was also predeceased by her husband Robert S. Chylinski and her three sisters, Ann Donato, Rose Napolitane and Angelina Pettita and her two brothers, Michael Fiore and Anthony Fiore. She is survived by her brother John Fiore, her nieces and nephews Marianne Hogle and Lois Koper, Eileen and Scott Cornell and Paul and Janice Fiore, Nick FioreSr., Mikeand Marilee Fiore as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A calling hour will be held Thursday January 21st from 9:30-10:30 am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam followed by an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt.
