Alice "Allie" Burke-Nichols

Alice “Allie” R. Burke-Nichols Pattersonville – Alice “Allie” R. Burke-Nichols, age 84, received her angel wings on Friday April 4, 2025.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 35 years, Howard “Nick” C. Nichols.

A lifelong area resident, Allie was born on July 5 th , 1940 in Rotterdam, NY. She was the daughter of the late Robert G. and Alice R. (Premore) Burke.

Allie worked at Carl Company for 10 years until her retirement. She previously worked at the J.C. Penney Salon in Albany for 10 years as well as many years as an aide at Ellis Hospital.

Allie was loved by her family and many friends and will be remembered for her great smile and sense of humor.

Allie’s favorite pastime was riding her Harley with her beloved husband, Nick and on occasion their children.

When Nick passed away, Allie lost her best friend but now there is comfort knowing they are both riding their Harley together in Heaven.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her step-children, Deborah Reichel (Ronald), Howard “Nick” Nichols Jr. (Brenda), Lisa VanDyke and Brenda LaMontagne (John), her step-grandchildren, Tia, Joshua, Nick, Kyle, Becky, Rhiannon, Chris, Brian, Jamie, Cassy, Brandon, Devin, Owen and Richard and 8 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as great and great great nieces and nephews. Allie also leaves behind very dear friends Gayle and John Clas.

Besides her husband, Howard “Nick” Nichols, Alice was predeceased by her children, Rosemarie and Richard Boettner and her sisters, Mary VanNatten and Billie Belshaw. Also, her beloved feline companion of 15 years, Chloe.

A graveside service, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held 11 am Monday April 14th at Viewland Cemetery, Princetown Rd., Rotterdam, where Allie will be placed next to her beloved Nick.
