Alfred Giaquinto

Alfred Giaquinto, 94, of Scotia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady Alfred was a graduate of Nott TerraceHigh School. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged. Alfred worked for many years at the former ALCO in Schenectady and also for several years at General Electric before he retired. He enjoyed gardening, and loved to bowl. He was a member of several bowling leagues. Alfred was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Theresa DeMarco Giaquinto, his siblings, Pasquale Giaquinto, Mario Giaquinto, Louis Giaquinto, Ernest Giaquinto, Lillian Correia and Rose Sarapillio. He is survived by his nieces, Theresa Sammo, Patricia Siary, and nephew, James Sarapillio as well as several great nieces and nephews and great- great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9-10:30 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Glenville.
