Glenville - Alfonsina Correra of Glenville, formerly of Schenectady, passed peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at the age of 92 with her loving family at her bedside. Born in Amorosi, Italy on December 1, 1929, Alfonsina was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and AnnaMaria Galietta DiStadio. She was educated in Italy and married her late husband Ferdinando Correra before emigrating to the United States in 1970. Alfonsina was employed as a seamstress with Bell Rod Garment Factory for several years and also worked as a winder at General Electric. Alfonsina dedicated herself to herchildren, her garden and enjoyed cooking and baking for her familyand friends. She was a longtime faithful member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She is survived by her children, Carolina “Carla” LaMalfa of Glenville, Gennaro “Gino” (TerryPasquariello) of Rotterdam, Giuseppe “Joe” (Mary) Correra, of Florida, and Anna Maria (Angelo)Biasiucci of Glenville. 14 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, sister FrancescaLombardo, ofBenovento, sister in law Lina DiStadio, of Amorosi, as well as numerous nieces and nephews andcousins. Loving sister of deceased brother Dante DiStadio, of Amorosi, Angelo (Anna) DiStadio, of the Bronx, NY, Rosina Viscusi, of Amorosi, Ada Servillo both of Amorosi, and her twin sister Giuseppina“Geppina” (Mario) Malgieri, of the Bronx, NY. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605Helderberg Ave., from6pm-8pm. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady ofMt. Carmel Church at 10am. Entombment will be at Most HolyRedeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
