Alexander R. "Bob" Ogilvie, 85, of Schenectady, passed away October 28, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Schenectady, NY on June 3, 1939, the son of Harris and Jessie Ogilvie.
Bob graduated in 1957 from Mt. Pleasant High School and was later inducted into the school Athletics Hall of Fame. Bob in his early years was an All-American football player; earning a full scholarship to Miami University. He co-owned the Albany Pork Store for 24 years. He later worked at Sahr's for over 18 years. He was fondly known as "Mr. O" and a legend in the area as he made his rounds to the restaurants. He was loved by everyone who met him; he was funny, loving, kind and caring. Above all else, he loved his family and was the best Grandfather anyone could have.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Anna Marie, their children; Lynn Lupi and her husband Ken, and Robb Ogilvie and his wife Paula, his grandchildren; Katie, Jesse, Tiffany, Cody, Robbie Jr. (Katie), his great-grandchildren; Cody Jr., Joey, Calvin, Channing, Nino, Mason, Lorelai, Dominic, his sister; Joyce Menia and her husband Roy, and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, and his great-grandchild Orion.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 4, 2024, from 10:00-12:00pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, Schenectady. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice or Wounded Warriors.
