Albert Joseph Zeppieri, Jr Associate Professor Emeritus Albert J. Zeppieri, Jr., 75, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. He was born in Amsterdam, NY on September 5, 1940, the son of Albert J. Zeppieri, Sr and Palmiera Papa Zeppieri and was destined to experience life on his own terms.He earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Education from State University of New York at Potsdam. While at Potsdam, one of his proudest accomplishments was as a member of the famed Crane School of Music Choir.He was also fortunate to sing under Eugene Ormandy & the Philadelphia Orchestra in SPAC's early days. Albert began his teaching career in the Amsterdam Public School system as an English teacher in the Junior High School.He then joined the faculty of SUNY at Cobleskill in the Humanities Department for 29 years before retiring. His passion for life led him to pursue interests in music, world travel and culture.Spirited discussions over elegant dinners were a hallmark of one's relationship with Albert.Family and friends enjoyed his world globe trotting adventure stories as only he could tell. Albert was a tenor with the Westminster Presbyterian Church Choir of Albany as well as Temple Beth/Emeth Congregation.He was a former member of the Capital Hill Choral Society and Albany Pro Musica. He is a member of the Albany County Historical Association; a former member of the Board and a great supporter ofAlbany's Tenbrouck Mansion hosting many charity dinners. Albert was an ardent patron of the arts and retained memberships in the Metropolitan Opera Guild and Glimmerglass Festival Opera Company. Family and dear friends mourn the loss of Albert's "joie de vivre!." Albert is survived by his beloved sister Janet Zeppieri Mikovich(Victor)Schenectady; nieces Kathryn Redman(Edward)LaPlata, MD; Karen DiGiandomenico(John)Draper, UT; Lisa Cutting(Scott)Stillwater, NY; Susan Cooley(Patrick)Rutland, VT; grandnieces & nephews: Emily Redman; Jenna & Kate DiGiandomenico; Loretta, Patrick,Jr, Elizabeth, Susanna Cooley; Jacqueline & VictorCutting.He is also survived by his uncle, William Zeppieri(Lillian) as well as many cousins and favorite friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents and infant sister, Kathleen. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving, compassionate care given to Albert and his family by his nurses & aides at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 31, 2016, 3:30pm until 6:30pm at theDeMarco-Stone Funeral Home at 1605 Helderberg Ave, Schenectady, NY. Arrangements are by R.J. DeLuccia.Burial will take place at the Mount Carmel Church Cemetery, Truax Road, Amsterdam, NY at the convenience of the family.A memorial concert in celebration of his life will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 85 Chestnut Street, Albany at a later date.
