Alan Richard Vanderwood

Rotterdam, NY – Alan Richard Vanderwood, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center. He was born on May 4, 1946 in Albany, NY, a son of the late Richard and Rose Ritter Vanderwood. Al enlisted in the United States Navy and was a member of the SEABEE’s and served during Vietnam. Al always enjoyed working in the woods. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Vanderwood, his sons, Carl and Richard Vanderwood and his grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Spencer and Stella. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 5 pm to 7pm. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208. Arrangements are by R.J. DeLuccia Funeral Service.
