Agnes E.Zechner, 96 of Rotterdam, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Throop, PA., Agnes was the daughter of the late Stephen and Grace Schollack Tasselmyer. Agnes worked at the Remington Arms Co. in Connecticut during WWII, and later worked for many years as a secretary in her husband's business, Zechner Tile Co. in Rotterdam. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Church and its Women's club, the Rotterdam Democratic Club, Rotterdam Lions Club, the Jolly Doers and "The Club". Agnes was predeceased by her beloved husband John F. Zechner, who died in 2009. She is survived by her daughters; Nancy Nerney and Barbara (Wilkerson) Zechner, three grandchildren; John Wilkerson, Jennifer Jemison and Jacob Nerney as well as six great grandchildren; Caitlin Rose Nerney, Austin and Ashton Wilkerson and Alexis, Autumn and Ava Jemison, and three brothers; Stephen (Keetsy) Tasselmyer of Petaluma, Ca., Bernard Tasselmyer of Lewiston, NY and Thomas Tasselmyer of Elliott City, Md. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Friday, 9:15 from the funeral home, followed at 10 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel's Church. Burial will follow at St's Cyril & Method Cemetery.
