Agnes Theresa (Marotta) Graffeo

Guilderland - Agnes Theresa Graffeo (Marotta), 88, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 19, 2016, after spending an evening celebrating her birthday with her family. She was born in Brooklyn on March 18, 1928 to the late Peter and Rosaria Marotta. Agnes was the devoted wife of over 66 years to Edward M. Graffeo. She was the adored mother of Victoria Graffeo, Andrea Graffeo, Christina Hippchen and her husband, Thomas, and Paul Graffeo and his wife, Jennifer. She was the proud grandmother to Ashley, Sarah and Rachael Degnan, and Theresa and Laura Graffeo. She was predeceased by her sister, Carmella Lattanzi (Michael), and was aunt to Ann Wick, Clare Hayes (John) and the late Lucille Lattanzi. Agnes resided in Guilderland where she lovingly raised her family for over 50 years. She worked as a secretary for various insurance agencies. She and her husband were daily mall walkers and will be fondly remembered by friends at Crossgates. She was a faithful communicant at Christ the King Church. The love and care of her husband and family was the focus of her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Tuesday at Christ the King Church 20 Sumpter Ave., Guilderland. The family will receive guests at a reception in the Church immediately following the Mass. Burial will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
