Adrienna "Tiny" Harris Carraway

Adrienna passed away suddenly at her home on July 16, 2021. She was 70 years young. Born May 13, 1951 in Albany, NY, "Tiny" was one of 8 children divinely gifted to Edward J. Harris Sr and Eleanor S. (Teabout) Harris, both deceased. She was a graduate of Mt Pleasant High School, class of 1969. Adrienna came from a very close, loving family who always came together to strengthen those bonds, filling her parents home withjoy and laughter. Adrienna gave life to 3 beautiful children, Tina (George) McLaurin, Michael Edmonson and Nancy (Coffin) Miranda. She raised her brood as a single parent without complaint. While raising her children she also put herself through college, obtaining her degree in data entry. She was well known for her devout faith in God. She loved her gospel music and worked tirelessly to instill that same love and appreciation in her children. There was never a doubt how Sundays were spent in her household. One could not have a conversation with her and not share her faith, always encouraging, reminding them that "Jesus loves you." Adrienna worked for the NYS DMV for 26 years before retiring in 2015. She has made many friends over the years, spiritual and otherwise, all of whomhold fond memories of their time together. After retiring from NYS, she shared a household with her daughter, Nancy, and grandchildren before moving to VA for a time. She finally settled in Texas to be nearer to her only son, Michael, and got the chance to intimately know the grands she had never met in person. She reveled in the time spent with them and they have made lasting memories. In addition to her parents, "Tiny" is predeceasedby 3 sisters; Helena Harris-Williams, Edwina Harris and Michelle Harris, 2 brothers; Douglas and Edward Harris Jr and her namesake, first-born granddaughter, Adrienna George-Durr. "Tiny" is survived by her 3 children, daughter-in-law, Mayra Edmonson, sisters; Eleanor "Theresa" Kagonyera, Druscilla "Dee-Dee" Celnik and sister-in law, Mary (Eddie) Harris. She also leaves to mourn her 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones impossible to number. For those who wish to come and celebrate the life of Adrienna with the family, we warmly invite you to join us as we pay our last respects to our beloved mother. Homegoing services will be on Friday, August 6, 2021at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 HelderbergAve, Schenectady, NY 12306 at1 pm, Repass will follow at SoulfoudHall, 970 Emmett Street, Schenectady, NY.
