Adeline (Dicarlo) Martino

April 1, 1923 — December 23, 2016

Schenectady – Adeline Martino, 93, passed away surrounded by her family on December 23 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Facility. She was the daughter of Augustine and Jennie DiCarlo. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 21 years, Pat. She was also predeceased by her sisters Olympia Rocco Borgia, and Viola DeMatteo and granddaughter Teresa Martino. Adeline was a loving, dedicated family person. She always had a smile and a kind word. Her participation in the Mt. Carmel choir, St. Theresa’s Guild and many other Church activities were especially joyful. She often spoke of the many trips taken with the Mt. Carmel Senior Citizen group. Her love for music was evident during quiet times when she would hum tunes even during the later stages of life. She loved her NY Yankees with her favorite player Derek Jeter. One of her favorite activities was bowling and she was a member of the Cup and Saucer bowling league for 25 years. Adeline is survived by her sons Ronald (Gail) Martino and Joseph (Christine) Martino. Her sister, Clementina DiCarlo. Her granddaughter, Patricia Martino. Calling hours will be held Thursday December 29, 2016 from 6-8 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 8:15 am Friday at the funeral home followed by a 9 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. John’s cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Adeline’s memory to the Heritage Home for Women, 1519 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12309.
