Adele Margaret Pigliavento, 69, of Rotterdam, New York, went to be with the Lord in her home surrounded by family, on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025. Adele was born on December 4th, 1955 to Alfred and Catherine St. John in Germany. After graduating from Mohonasen High School in 1974, Adele worked in the airline industry for 15 years, after which she became the thing she wanted to be most, a stay-at-home mom. In 1977 Adele married the love of her life, Edward Pigliavento, Jr. and dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband of 48 years and their three children.
Adele was known by her care and concern for each person she interacted with. Her love for her family, friends, and neighbors was genuine, thoughtful, and authentic. She was known for taking an interest in others and always showered those around her with encouragement, kindness, and compliments.
Adele loved her golden retrievers, enjoyed watching funny movies and TV shows with her family, and summer boat rides on Lake Sacandaga. Most importantly, Adele had a strong love for Jesus Christ, which was evident in everything that she did.
Adele is survived by her husband Edward Pigliavento, Jr., children, Edward Pigliavento, III, Andrea Rohrer (Jacob Rohrer), Ashley Gerald (Alphonso Gerald), and a proud grandmother to her granddaughter, Anastasia Rohrer. Her sister Alyson Wood (Robert Wood) and her nephews James Wood, Greg Wood (Emily Wood), David Wood (Jessica Wood), and her brother Alfred St. John, III.
A Celebration of Adele’s Life will be held on Saturday, November 15th, at 11am, at the Sonrise Bible Church, 1082 Dunnsville Road Schenectady, NY 12306. Visitation is from 9am to 11am prior to the service, with the burial ceremony to follow.
